Visitor FAQs

Do you allow pets?

You are welcome to bring your best friend along with you to the tea garden!  We just ask that you keep him/her on a leash.  With the exception of service dogs, we do not allow dogs inside our gift shop or on our trolley tour. However, our expansive front porch with rockers is a great place to hang out and alternate visiting the gift shop/factory area.

Can I use rideshare to get there?

We do not recommend using rideshare applications, as it has been very difficult to make arrangements back to your desired location once you are here. If you plan to use a rideshare application, please make sure you have confirmed arrangements to get back to your origination point prior to visiting as it is very difficult to get a ride back once you reach the charleston tea garden.

What is the best time of the year to visit the Charleston Tea Garden?

The Charleston Tea Garden is open year round and there is always something for you to see and enjoy...

Spring: The harvest season begins in the month of May.

Summer: The harvesting and production processes are in full swing.

Fall:  Harvesting ends around the end of September/beginning of October. During this time of year the Camellia Sinensis plants begin to bloom.

Winter: Even though the harvesting season is over you can still experience the workings of the farm.  The plants may be resting, but the atmosphere is still full of energy!

The Gift Shop

Anything tea related can be found in our beautiful, spacious gift shop. Over 65,000 visitors a year come to browse and enjoy the unique items that we offer. Choose from over several hundred tea related items, whether it be a unique tea infuser, a tea mug, a tea set, tea towels or tea serve ware.  We also offer a selection of the delicious specialty teas that we produce here, each made with 100% tea grown on the garden.  They're available in boxes of teabags or tins of loose leaf tea.  You can sample many of these at our Tea Bar, served daily either hot or iced.  Our hope is that you will find just what you're looking for whether it be for yourself or family and friends on your gift list.
