Over 100 years ago, tea planters brought their finest ancestral tea bushes from China and India to Wadmalaw Island near the historic old city of Charleston, South Carolina. Now the direct descendants of these very plants have been lovingly restored to their former grandeur here at the Charleston Tea Garden, a lush subtropical tea farm. It is in this context of great natural beauty and colonial pride that we bring you Charleston Tea Garden Wadmalaw Green Tea made from 100% tea grown at America's own tea garden. Wadmalaw Island Green Tea is carefully crafted to be America's unique and refreshing version of a classic, centuries-old beverage.

Looks (and tastes) like lawnmower clippings

I have never seen anything like this before. I paid $20 for a bag of loose leaf tea expecting leaves. Instead I saw the same dregs that are typically found in mass market lipton tea bags, seemingly taken from those bags and dumped into a loose leaf pouch. The pouch contained a sort of finely grained powder which also included stems. When I tried to brew a cup with my infuser, a substantial portion of the powder was so fine that it bled out of the infuser into the cup, resulting in a very powdery cup of weak green tea.

Go to for cold brewed tea.

I’ve been using this to make 1/2 gallon batches of cold brewed green tea for years. Try to keep it in good supply, bummer when I run out because it’s not always available.

I love your teas

I love your teas. The online choices were slim for loose tea. But I am happy with what I got.
